Bachelor's degree in a related field; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and two years of general office, secretarial, or administrative experience; OR four years of such experience.

Experience preparing reports, working with Vital Records documents, handling highly confidential materials, experience working in a public health or health related setting. Experience supervising staff. Proficiency in electronic systems such as scanning and imagining systems, and software needed to electronically key data variables into data systems and archive digital records.
Responsibilities :
The Program Assistant will work within the Fulfillment Unit's Scanning and Imaging team that is responsible for the scanning, imaging (including the application of State File Numbers) to all vital records documents including birth, death, marriage and dissolution certificates consistent with New York State Public Health and Domestic Relations Law. The Program Assistant will provide support to ensure that the team meets production deliverables established by Vital Records management staff and that staff adhere to the established policies and procedures. The incumbent will track and perform a secondary review of records found via a gap analysis, missing records, or records requiring correction or refiling. The incumbent will supervise staff and perform other appropriate related duties.
