Adult Day Care Recreation Aides

Hearts That Matter Most Adult Day Care is actively hiring Recreation Aides for our Adult Day Care in the heart of Philadelphia. The ideal candidate will have previous adult day experience.

Must have experience creating a calendar for daily activities. Must have experience with doing arts and crafts with seniors with dementia. Must have computer skills. Must have knowledge of dealing with clients with dementia.

DUTIES:

• Design & implement recreational programs for Residents.
• Work directly with Residents at the center, without direct supervision.
• Organize and obtain supplies and equipment as requested.
• Assist recreation specialists & set up program areas as needed.
• Keep daily attendance and document residents’ participation in activities.
• Assist residents to program locations
• Communicate related information to other individuals directly involved in Resident care
• Be familiar with established emergency procedures.
• Assist to bathroom when needed
• Must be able to transfer clients safely
• Must be able to present crafts weekly in advance
• Must be able to make monthly calendar
• Must be able to work Monday -Friday

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be upbeat, energetic, enthusiastic, and have a caring personality.
• Enjoy working with the elderly
• Exp. with recreation therapy/activities a plus
• High school diploma/equivalent
• Strong computer skills necessary
• Ability to work effectively as a team member
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Ability to multi-task
• Current physical
• Current PPD
• Fully Vaccinated
• Criminal Background Check
• Drug Screening
• At least 3 years’ experience with recreational activities with seniors and seniors with dementia
• Must have computer skills and able to complete activity calendar
• CPR certified
