Waverly Heights is currently seeking a Full Time Therapeutic Recreation Specialist to join our team. Waverly's Therapeutic Recreation Specialists play a crucial role in the compassionate care by enhancing the well-being of our residents. If you are a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist who enjoys making a difference by helping to design and implement interactive programs for our residents that provide opportunities for meaningful emotional and social engagement, please apply! Daily responsibilities of this position include:
- assisting Director of Therapeutic Recreation in planning recreational activities and special events
- representing the Therapeutic Recreation department at Interdisciplinary Care Conferences
- assisting with completion of activities assessments (as assigned)
- distributing activity calendars to residents
- creating and posting daily activity sheets in the nurses' stations
- ensuring necessary supplies are available for activities
- documenting participation in resident activities
Our Therapeutic Recreation Specialist are scheduled 40 hours per week. Certification in recreational therapy or Music Therapy and/or previous experience working in Therapeutic Recreation is preferred. Our ideal candidate will have exceptional customer services skills, a positive attitude, work well in a team environment, and have the ability and willingness to learn.
