Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of Position:
|

1 |
Model positive interaction with children and families and with staff |
|
2 |
Provide individualized care and supervision of each resident. |
|
3 |
Conduct monthly fire drills and complete appropriate paperwork. Ensure that all children in the residence are aware of the fire escape route and staging plan |
|
4 |
Organize and conduct social/recreational/cultural activities. |
|
5 |
Use strength-based intervention, communication and programming |
|
6 |
Participate in the service planning and review process |
|
7 |
Earn F07 and S95 Fire Safety Certification within 6 months of employment |
|
8 |
Provide direct care coverage with flexible work hours. |
|
9 |
Organize and facilitate independent living skills groups in the residence. |
|
10 |
Record client progress in regards to independent living skills development. |
|
11 |
Provide a therapeutic milieu and promote appropriate socialization. |
|
12 |
Create a warm, caring, home-like environment. |
|
13 |
Deliver services in accordance with service goals and objectives. |
|
14 |
Employ trauma-sensitive practices. |
|
15 |
Accompany, supervise, and provide transportation (when necessary) for appointments, home visits, sibling visits and activities. |
|
16 |
Promote family involvement and reunification as appropriate. |
|
17 |
Provide counseling and support. |
|
18 |
Ensure adherence to medication regimen and documents as needed. |
|
19 |
Provide crisis intervention and behavior management. |
|
20 |
Report incidents, occurrences or untoward events to the supervisor as soon as they occur and complete appropriate paperwork. |
|
21 |
Complete all assigned documentation in a timely fashion. |
|
22 |
Assist in residence household duties (general cleaning, laundry, shopping, meal planning and preparation); train and supervise children in developing these skills. |
|
23 |
Attend supervision and meetings as scheduled. |
|
24 |
Distribute and reconcile petty cash. |
|
25 |
Fulfill any other tasks assigned by Residence Manager |
Qualifications
|
Ability to work flexible shifts. |
|
Experience working with youth with serious emotional disturbance. |
|
Experience working with families of youth with serious emotional disturbance. |
|
NYS Driver’s License Preferred. |
Salary : $18
