JOB SUMMARY:
The Math Teacher is responsible for providing academic instruction to students in a highly structured alternative school. He / She will help students learn subject matter and skills that will broaden their learning experiences and contribute to their development. In a small classroom setting, the Math Teacher will address the academic and emotional/behavioral needs of the students as set forth in their Individual Education Plan (IEP). Responsibilities include creating lesson plans that develop students’ theoretical and applied mathematical skills; assigning homework; documenting student progress; and addressing any performance issues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in education with a specialization in mathematics, or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Math Teacher.
- A thorough understanding of best practices in teaching.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Organized, flexible disposition.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills.
