Housekeeping/Laundry Assistant

Cleans and maintains the communities following standardized cleaning practices, providing a clean and healthy environment. The cleaning responsibilities occur in common space as well as resident occupied space and office settings. Customer service skills are essential, as the housekeeping assistants work around the residents, visitors, and staff.

Major Responsibilities

1. Cleaning common spaces, resident rooms and apartments in all the communities.
2. Mopping, vacuuming, dusting high and low, cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, bathroom cleaning, wall washing.
3. Cleaning windows and blinds.
4. Emptying general trash and medical waste.
5. Maintaining equipment in a clean organized manner.
6. Following infection control and safety protocols. 
7. Cleaning in areas where special precautions are involved due to illness.
8. May be cross-trained to work in the commercial laundry setting – handling soiled linens, the wash process, folding and delivery.

Essential Physical Functions:

1. Ability to push, pull or move carts or other equipment. 
2. Lift and work at shoulder height or above for certain tasks.
3. Work with repetitious movements.
4. Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
5. Frequent walking, stairs and standing.
