Hermann Services is in need of a Customer Service Representative for our facility in New Castle Delaware. The Customer Service Representative carries out all customer service activities such as responding to customer inquiries, processing orders, handling complaints in a prompt, courteous and effective manner. Other responsibilities include but not limited to coordinating routing and scheduling pickups with carriers. Qualified candidates will be able to plan, schedule, direct and execute the day-to-day distribution activities. This position will handle customer coordination as well as customer service duties. Individual requires accurate understanding of supply chain/ logistic operation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review shipping guides to study the necessary requirements for shipment.
- Ongoing management of the open order report.
- Responding promptly to customer inquiries
- Schedule shipments for orders ready for processing.
- Notify drivers on requirements of the loads as needed to facilitate movement.
- Must be familiar with online routing routines.
- Work collaboratively and effectively with Account Managers.
- Must be accurate and organized and have good communication skills.
- Complete paperwork in an accurate and timely manner to ensure satisfactory billing.
- Complete bills of lading and shipping papers to ensure efficient traffic movement.
- Coordinate tracking ship dates to ensure on time delivery guided by shipping window specifications.
Qualifications:
- Min. of 2 years' experience with a Logistics, Trucking or 3PL.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Basic math skills for practical applications.
- Excellent Communication skills when dealing with customers and coworkers via telephone, two-way radio and email, and able to maintain a positive, professional manner at all times.
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
- Ability to understand problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Must be able to work in a fast paced, team-oriented environment dedicated to satisfying the customer and achievement of safety, quality and productivity goals in a time sensitive environment.
