HiFAB builds single-family modular homes and is comprised of the best design, logistics, engineering and production teams in its field. Its primary focus is to produce high-design homes faster and more affordably than traditional on-site construction. The company has enlisted a team of world-renowned architects and esteemed experts, from to the top engineers in the modular industry to holistically approach modular construction from start to finish in a way that preserves the integrity of the designs, accelerates time to market and produces positive financial results for its investors. HiFAB’s goal is to become a production modular home builder that builds up to 300 homes per year, which in turn will bring more homes online faster while positively impacting the community through the delivery of well-designed attainable housing. This segment is an important portion of the single-family home industry that’s increasingly getting priced out of the market.

Job Summary

The Controller will oversee the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and efficient financial management. This role involves managing accounting processes, implementing financial strategies, and providing leadership to the accounting team. The Controller will play a key role in the organization’s decision-making by delivering actionable insights based on financial data.

Responsibilities & Duties

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Present financial reports to the CFO, executive team, and/or board of directors.

Accounting Operations:

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
  • Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Lead the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts.
  • Monitor actual performance against budget, providing variance analysis and recommendations for course correction.

Compliance and Audit:

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
  • Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring timely resolution of audit findings.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations.

Leadership and Team Development:

  • Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Establish clear goals, provide regular feedback, and facilitate professional development opportunities.

Systems and Process Optimization:

  • Evaluate and improve financial systems, processes, and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate financial systems with broader business processes.

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5–8 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including leadership roles.
  • Proven experience in managing accounting teams and financial operations.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in financial software (e.g., ERP systems, QuickBooks, or similar platforms).
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial modeling.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing
  • Familiarity with multi-entity consolidation.
  • · Local to Dallas/Fort Worth area is a plus

Compensation and Benefits

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $100,000 - 150,000 per year
