What You’ll Be Doing as a Revenue Accountant:
- Accurately ensure revenue accounts receivable is offset against cash receipts after revenue has been booked.
- Prepare revenue related variance analysis on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Coordinate and support all monthly regulatory and production tax filings and payments.
- Calculate and record monthly revenue accrual entries.
- Coordinate monthly revenue payment run.
- Calculate pipeline inventories and imbalances. Prepare ledger entries and process sales adjustments as necessary to reflect the effect of inventory on sales and income.
- Research, reconcile and resolve outstanding accounts receivable.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations as assigned.
- Manage suspense balance in coordination with land administration team.
- Maintain payout balances and ensure necessary prior period adjustments are booked timely.
- Prepare revenue source documentation for audit requests.
- Serve as a key contact for owner inquiries and provide prompt and accurate responses.
- Process all owner voids and re-issues.
About You as a Revenue Accountant:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related business field.
- 2 years of oil and gas revenue accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of revenue distributions, division of interest, and GAAP.
- Skilled in account reconciliation, receivables, and contract interpretation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with Enertia or similar ERP systems preferred.
- Detail-oriented, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
