What You’ll Be Doing as a Senior Revenue Accountant:
- Coordinate and support monthly regulatory filings and payments, including ONRR, BIA, and state production taxes.
- Allocate wellhead sales to working interest owners for current month and all prior period adjustments (PPAs).
- Offset revenue accounts receivable against cash receipts post-booking.
- Establish revenue agreements and shipper contracts to ensure proper accounting for marketing arrangements, severance taxes, and product flow.
- Calculate and record monthly revenue accruals and manage monthly revenue payment runs.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly revenue variance analysis for management.
- Calculate pipeline inventories and imbalances; book sales adjustments as needed.
- Reconcile accounts receivable and resolve outstanding balances.
- Manage suspense accounts in collaboration with the land administration team.
- Maintain payout balances and ensure timely booking of PPAs.
- Track and account for oil inventories at terminals and in transit (e.g., rail cars).
- Provide revenue source documentation for audits.
- Serve as a primary contact for owner inquiries, delivering accurate and timely responses.
- Participate in ongoing process improvement and cross-departmental collaboration.
About You as a Senior Revenue Accountant:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related business field.
- 5 years of oil and gas revenue accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of revenue distributions, division of interest, and GAAP.
- Skilled in account reconciliation, receivables, and contract interpretation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with Enertia or similar ERP systems preferred.
- Familiarity with federal lands and Utah-based assets is a plus.
- Detail-oriented, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
