Higher Education Servicing Corporation (HESC) is a private, non-profit student loan originator and servicing company as well as technology solutions provider for lenders and loan servicing organizations.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to oversee and manage a portfolio of projects that spans across IT, loan origination and servicing, marketing, and business development. This role will focus on providing superior project management skills to optimize organizational efforts and drive business growth. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in project management methodologies, fostering collaboration, managing relationships and expectations, and technical expertise. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring projects are executed successfully, on time, and within scope, while aligning with the company’s overall objectives.

The role will report directly to the Systems Implementation Manager.

This role is onsite only at our Arlington, TX offices. We do not offer relocation services.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive project plans including scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with teams to understand project deliverables and gap analysis in order to create milestones and deadlines that align with stakeholder expectations.
  • Motivate cross-functional project team members and drive continuous improvement in project management processes and methodologies.
  • Perform quality control throughout the development of the project, to maintain the expected timelines and deliverables.
  • Proactively drive project execution by identifying and initiating next steps to maintain project momentum and ensure timely progress toward key milestones.
  • Monitor for potential risks throughout the project lifecycle and adjusts project plan, expectations, deliverables, and/or timelines accordingly.
  • Implement quality assurance processes to ensure that deliverables meet established standards and specifications.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with key stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, milestones, addressing roadblocks, and facilitating cross-functional collaboration.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations and apply insights to future projects.
  • Responsible for managing client and/or staff meetings throughout a project, to review progress, address challenges, and celebrate achievements.
  • Serves as the primary contact for projects and organizes information in a clear and concise manner for teams to access.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with clients on a daily basis, through a variety of channels.
  • Establish and maintain centralized documentation systems to ensure consistent organization, version control, and accessibility of project data.
  • Utilize project management software and tools to track project progress and performance metrics.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to the organization’s internal management policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the organization's performance measures and mission.

  • Ability to verbally communicate complex information in a clear, organized, and concise manner
  • Ability to teach and train others as needed
  • Frequently works under deadlines as a team member and in direct contact with others
  • Show flexibility and adaptability toward changes in assignments and work schedules, working extended hours, as necessary

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in the Business, IT, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience of project management in blended IT, marketing, and business development environment
  • Familiarity with financial software or loan servicing preferred
  • PMP, Scrum Master, or similar project management certification preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed in a standard office environment and requires regular, reliable, and punctual attendance at work
  • Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)
  • Employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move boxes or files up to 20 pounds
  • Employee is frequently required to use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Employee is frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms
