But we're not done yet– we're growing, and we are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist who will be responsible for ensuring that the billing transactions for our Oral Surgery and Endodontic practices are processed timely and accurately.
Please note that this is an on-site role in our Birmingham, Alabama office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform billing and collection activities by communicating with providers, payors, and patients.
- Perform insurance verifications.
- Research and examine claims.
- Work with payor and provider offices on payment denials, rejections, and accuracy of payments.
- Post EFT, check payments and credit card payments.
- Enter patient’s insurance information in practice management software.
- Set up primary and secondary insurance information on patient records.
- Submit claims to insurance companies.
- Process insurance payments.
- Submit records and appeals as needed.
- Print and mail patient statements.
- Process outstanding claims reports.
- Prepare detailed patient out of pocket estimates.
- Answer phones to service patients and referring providers.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in medical billing and insurance experience preferred
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Must be detailed oriented, accurate, reliable, and well-versed
- Attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Independently motivated
- Punctual and willing to work in a team environment
- Follow protocols and guidelines as they relate to patient privacy (HIPAA/OSHA)
