The objective of the counselor is to provide students and parents with a positive understanding of the financial aid process and to assist them in funding their education. Job duties include the following:
- Counseling of current and prospective students, with a focus on our Hilbert College Global (HCG) students, in all matters pertaining to financial aid and the payment of tuition and fees; by appointment, walk in, phone or by video conference.
- Communicates effectively with students regarding their individual status in the Financial Aid application process.
- Facilitate the packaging process by advising students as to the proper filing of required applications and supporting documentation.
- Manage the application, delivery and certification of Federal PLUS and alternative loans. Review PLUS denials and requests on a case-by-case basis.
- Perform verification including requesting additional documentation as needed.
- Provides educational services: exit interviews, financial aid nights, open houses, orientation, FAFSA workshops, internal training, default management, and financial literacy activities.
- Post documents received in system.
- Perform TAP estimates.
- Other duties as assigned, willingness to cross train.

- Mathematical aptitude
- Proficient computer skills.
- Ability and willingness to learn and to work with a diverse population in a variety of settings with special emphasis on problem solving.

- Administrative and organization skills.
- Some evenings/weekends required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience in financial aid process and delivery systems at a not-for-profit institution of higher education.
- Experience and knowledge of PowerFaids, PowerCampus and/or NetPartner preferred.
Salary : $43,000 - $45,000
