The Repair & Maintenance Technician will play an important role in the repair and maintenance of Hillcrest’s newly remodeled clubhouse, swimming pool and entire physical plant. Under the direction of the Chief Engineer, they work as a highly coordinated team to ensure that the Club meets member standards for comfort and luxury and that all systems are in proper working order. HCC R&M Techs are skilled in small mechanical repairs, moving heavy furniture, painting, understanding and monitoring building systems. Reliable and calm under pressure, they recognize the importance of their role, view no task as insignificant and take pride in providing outstanding service and contributing to the success of their team, and the Club as a whole. The R&M Techs are part of every activity and event at the club. They move and set up computers, audio visual equipment and dance floors for various club and private events, in addition to performing various incidental duties to meet member needs and create lasting memories.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Perform minor repairs and maintenance on equipment, building, appliances, culinary equipment and other duties as directed by Chief Engineer.
- Preventative Maintenance replacing air filters for A/C units, cleaning refrigerator condensers and evaporator coils; replacing drinking water filters on a regularly scheduled basis.
- Check interior and exterior lighting daily, and make repairs and replacement of light fixtures as needed.
- Inspect and record daily all freezer and refrigerator temperatures, ice machine operations, boiler pressures, and test water softeners for hardness daily.
- Set up and take down for audio visual equipment and dance floor for various club events.
- Move and set up furniture, files, and computers in various locations as necessary.
- Coordinate with outside vendors to ensure Club gets maximum value out of their services and meets deadlines
- Safely use and carefully maintain club tools including power tools and other equipment according to manufacturer’s and Club guidelines.
- Develop and maintain an expertise in club safety policies and procedures, attending all training, reading and absorbing all literature related to safety, using personal protective equipment whenever required, using all machinery, equipment and chemicals according to manufacturer’s guidelines and in accordance with OSHA and health department guidelines.
- Attend mandatory safety training including CPR/First Aid training as required.
- Serve as an internal first responder to the Code system, familiarity with Club emergency systems, supplies and equipment, willing to and able to take charge in an emergency.
- Exercise extreme care with Club property and equipment to avoid property damage, wear and tear.
- Make cleanliness a priority, presenting a healthy, natural appearance.
- Be polite, courteous, helpful and use a moderate tone of voice, able to be heard but not loud
- Cooperate to help fellow workers and Members, whenever appropriate, contributing to a “teamwork” atmosphere that benefits members and team members
- Other incidental duties and projects as assigned

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential:
- Experience with repair and maintenance
- Able to perform minor repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment, to paint with professional results and safely move very large furniture and files
- Experienced with and comfortable using a variety of power tools and equipment.
- Understanding of basic mechanical systems, able to understand and interpret schematic drawings and instructions.
- Strong team player able to work well in coordination with others to achieve goals in a timely fashion.
- A service oriented personality able to work in others’ physical space professionally and politely
- Possession of a pleasant and caring manner with everyone. Warm, friendly and outgoing without being overbearing.
- Ability to follow oral and written directions.
