Duties:
- Plan and deliver dance lessons to students of various age groups and skill levels, including competitive teams.
- Teach proper dance techniques, including posture, alignment, and movement
- Create and implement lesson plans that are engaging and age-appropriate
- Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students to help them improve their skills
- Demonstrate dance moves and combinations for students to follow
- Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain discipline during lessons
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff to coordinate performances and events
- Stay up-to-date with current dance trends, techniques, and styles
Experience:
- Experience in teaching dance, either in a studio or educational setting; Experience with competitive dancing
- Knowledge of various dance styles, such as ballet, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, etc.
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
- Experience working with students of different ages, from early childhood to adults
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual students
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey instructions and provide feedback
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a passion for teaching dance
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $21.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 25 per week
Schedule:
- 4 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
