We’re seeking a strategic, analytically strong Director of Finance, M&A to lead financial planning, analysis, and execution of mergers, acquisitions, and business development initiatives for a mission driven software company. This high-impact role will work closely with the C-Suite and Senior Leadership Team, offering exposure to both internal business leaders and external private equity stakeholders.
You'll play a critical role across all phases of the transaction lifecycle—from evaluation and modeling to negotiation, due diligence, and integration, while also contributing to broader strategic finance initiatives. In addition to M&A responsibilities, the Director will contribute to other critical finance areas as needed, with hands-on involvement in tax planning, financial analysis, debt management, budgeting, and broader finance or accounting functions.
The Director of Finance, M&A, is a dynamic position in a high-growth environment providing broad influence and responsibility. The position offers a competitive salary, benefits, and a hybrid schedule working from either the Burlington, MA or Leawood, KS office. There is no sponsorship or third-party arrangements available.
Key Responsibilities:
Transaction Evaluation & Analysis
- Assess M&A and strategic partnership opportunities through in-depth financial modeling and valuation (DCF, LBO, accretion/dilution, comps, etc.)
- Identify key risks, opportunities, and synergy potential through scenario and sensitivity analysis
- Provide financial input on deal structure and terms
Execution & Due Diligence
- Lead financial due diligence efforts, working closely with FP&A, Accounting, and Legal teams
- Support negotiations and review of transaction documents alongside Corporate Development
- Prepare and present clear, data-driven recommendations to senior executives
Integration & Strategic Support
- Partner cross-functionally to support post-transaction integration and performance tracking
- Drive insights that link operational performance to financial outcomes
- Participate in broader strategic planning and corporate finance initiatives
Qualifications:
- 10 years in corporate finance, public accounting, investment banking, or corporate development
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting with Master’s preferred
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and quantitative analysis skills
- Experience in a SaaS or recurring revenue business model with a strong understanding of key metrics such as ARR, CARR, NRR, GRR, ACV, TCV, churn, and bookings.
- Experience leading or participating in complex M&A or partnership transactions
- Ability to clearly communicate insights to senior leadership and external stakeholders
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency
