Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain energy models for power and/or natural gas markets to support operational and strategic decision-making for customers.
- Analyze market trends, pricing structures, and consumption patterns to optimize generation operations and natural gas resource planning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate modeling insights into business operations.
- Perform sensitivity analyses and scenario planning to assess market risks and opportunities.
- Provide technical expertise on energy modeling software and methodologies.
- Interpret regulatory impacts on energy optimization strategies and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Conduct research on emerging technologies and innovations in energy optimization.
- Support development of future roadmaps related to power and natural gas modeling and optimization
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, mathematics, business, economics, or other related field
- Experience in energy modeling, optimization, and analytics within the power or natural gas sector.
- Awareness of programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB for modeling and data analysis.
- Knowledge of energy market dynamics, risk management, and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience with simulation tools and optimization methodologies.
- Ability to analyze large datasets and extract actionable insights.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience with Hitachi Energy's Portfolio Optimization or SENDOUT products is a plus.
- Familiarity with machine learning techniques applied to energy modeling is a plus
- Prior work experience in energy trading, utility operations, or consulting is a plus
- Knowledge of grid optimization, demand forecasting, and integrated resource planning.
