The Vice President, Associate General Counsel is a member of the Legal Services Department which provides legal support and guidance to all departments and affiliates of HMH and at all levels within the organization. The Vice President, Associate General Counsel will focus on supporting our DTS (information technology) team working on contracts, strategic endeavors and advise and support. This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President/Deputy General Counsel.
Qualifications:
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- BA/BS; JD required.
- A minimum of 7 years' experience in the practice of law related to the area of practice to be assigned.
- Demonstrated ability to work with and learn information technology programs necessary to the operation of the department and area of practice assigned.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication and research skills.
- Effective project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office and Google Suite platforms.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
- Knowledge of, and experience with, relevant state and federal healthcare law and regulations and healthcare operations.
- Experience working in an in-house department.
- Working with, supervising and providing guidance to paraprofessionals.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
- Licensed to practice law in New Jersey or otherwise authorized to practice as in-house counsel pursuant to R. 1:27-2
