What We Need:
We are looking for an Integrated Design Solutions (IDS) Designer to join our HNI Workplace Furnishings team.
The Integrated Design Solutions (IDS) Designer is responsible for providing internal and external design and specification services. This individual will apply product knowledge and offer creative design solutions while providing design services. As a part of IDS, this member works closely with team members to provide the best design experience for customers.
What You Will Do:
- Uses computer-aided drafting (CAD) and computer-aided programming (CAP) tools proficiently to efficiently create accurate furniture plans and specifications for internal and external audiences.
- Completes projects of varying size and scope and help support the team where needed.
- Assists in the training and mentoring of Associate Designers.
- Performs consistently in meeting department quality metrics.
- Uses problem solving skills with the ability to provide appropriate solutions.
- Represents HON in a variety of settings that could include dealer trainings and visits, and day-to-day business interaction.
- Identifies process improvement opportunities and submits ideas to IDS Supervisor.
- Maintains a strong understanding of HON products.
- Offers design support via phone calls and emails and schedules incoming projects as necessary.
What You Have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or related field.
- 2 years professional design/specification experience with office furniture products, HON preferred
- Proven track record of consistently delivering projects of varying scope and size while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and quality.
- Proven success working on a variety of project sizes including large, semi-complex, multi-systems projects with high visibility while meeting customer’s deadlines.
What You’re Good At:
- AutoCAD experience.
- Giza and CAP 2020 Software Suite.
- Ability to multi-task and work in high pressure situations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have high attention to detail and the ability to work within strict deadlines, while also being adaptable and flexible to customer’s changing requirements.
