What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Teacher - Certificated position at HOCKINSON SCHOOL DISTRICT?
The certificated substitute position is an on-call, as needed position to fill in for certificated employees who are absent for various reasons, such as illness, conference/convention attendance or short-term leaves. Although the Hockinson School District has a fairly steady demand for substitutes, the nature of the work is quite varied. Therefore, certificated substitutes must possess flexibility in being available and a willingness to work in different assignments and school locations. Substitutes will be expected to utilize the teacher plan left for them. Substitute assignments will be filled through the Aesop system, a web based substitute finder system which also has a calling feature.
•Possess a current Washington State teaching certificate
•Demonstrate the ability in classroom management
•Demonstrate knowledge of the State EALRs, State Learning Targets, GLE’s and Common Core State Standards
•Demonstrate knowledge of current trends in curriculum, instruction, and assessment
•Demonstrate successful recent experience working with students
•Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively
