What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeping Supervisor position at Holiday Inn Express and Suites?
The Holiday Inn Express and Suites is looking for a leader to be the Housekeeping Supervisor of our amazing housekeeping team. This candidate will assist the Director of Operations in leading the housekeeping department.
The Housekeeping Supervisors responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Responsible for directing all Housekeeping operations to ensure the overall cleanliness of the hotel. Housekeeping operations include housekeepers, laundry attendants and houseman.
- Ensure and maintain the cleanliness, customer service and brand standards are met for guest rooms, employee spaces, public spaces, offices, and meeting/conference rooms.
- Lead, direct and administer all Housekeeping operations to include, but not limited to, inventory control, department management, policy and procedure implementation
- Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision and professional development, training, scheduling, coaching and counseling, input towards evaluating performance and delivering recognition
- Ensure proper usage of chemicals and cleaning supplies by monitoring usage, providing complete training for team members and ensuring proper labeling of hazardous supplies in accordance with OSHA regulations
- Physically checks rooms made ready by Housekeepers to confirm ready for guest check-in and update in the computer
- Clean/prepare rooms in situations where occupancy increases or team member call outs (as needed)
- Ensures Housekeeping and Laundry supply inventory are ordered and properly stored
- Responsible for the security of lost and found items
Qualified candidates will be required to have:
- Prior 1 to 2 years’ experience in Supervisor role preferably in housekeeping
- Must be dependable and productive
- Must have excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to effectively handle conflict in a team environment
- Ability to plan and organize the activities of others
- Ability to get ideas accepted and to guide a group or individual to accomplish a task
- Ability to express ideas clearly both in written and oral communications
- Respond to guest complaints and special requests
- The Supervisor may be required to climb or balance and will be required at times push a cart weighing up to 60 pounds or carrying up to 40 pounds
