Mechanical Assembly Technician

Hosokawa Micron Powder Systems provides size reduction systems and powder processing solutions for chemical, pharmaceutical, food, mineral, plastics, and cosmetic applications. Throughout our history, we have led the industry in coarse to ultra-fine grinding, classification, mixing, drying, containment, compaction, and analytical equipment.

As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for building sub-assemblies and machines that conform to specifications and drawings to meet the Company’s quality standards.

Job Duties:

• Assemble and fit together mechanical components and build milling machines
• Assure proper installation of machine components to achieve proper alignment and operation
• Test assembled machines to ensure they perform according to engineering documents
• Troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues
• Collaborate with engineers and other team members to improve assembly processes and resolve technical challenges
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to all safety protocols

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3 years of experience assembling and maintenance of industrial rotating equipment
• 1 years of experience with reading and interpreting dimensional assembly drawings/blueprints

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to be stationary upright and move 100% of the shift
• Will be required regularly to lift up to 50 pounds
• Constantly uses electric tools that requires use of hands and fingers
• Must be able to move body to position themselves while working on equipment frequently

Additional Requirements:

• Needs to provide own toolbox and own SAE & Metric tools; company to provide specialty and power tools when necessary

Preferred Qualifications:

• Technical or Vocational school
• Knowledge of proper bearing and seal installation
• Experience as an assembler in a manufacturing environment, preferably with milling machines or similar heavy machinery
• Experience with assembly of high-speed rotating equipment
• Good proficiency with reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Experience using hand and power tools as well as precision measuring instruments
• Detail oriented with a focus on quality
• Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing technologies and processes
