What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rehab Project Coordinator position at Housing Authority of the County of San Bernardino?
Under the direction of the Sr. Rehab Project Coordinator, performs project management activities associated with the acquisition, development and/or rehabilitation of affordable housing units or Housing Authority offices. Plans, executes, and finalizes projects according to strict deadlines and within budget; acquires resources and coordinates efforts of staff and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan.
- Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope of work.
- Prepares complex scope of work for projects as requested.
- Assists in development of cost effective plan and schedule for completion of project following a logical pattern for utilization of resources.
- Coordinates and reviews work of design professionals, prime contractors and subcontractors working on various phases of the project.
- Oversees performance of all trade contractors and reviews plans to ensure that all specification and regulations are being followed.
- Responsible for proper administration of construction contracts.
- Tracks and controls construction schedule and associated costs to achieve completion of project within time and monies allocated.
- Manages project budget; tracks and reports hours/expenses on a weekly basis.
- Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change.
- Reports to Sr. Rehab Project Coordinator on progress and any necessary modifications of plans that seem indicated.
- Performs additional duties as required.
Bachelor's degree in construction management, public administration or related field preferred. Five (5) years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects from process development to execution. Possession of a contractors license a plus. Equivalent education and/or experience may be considered. Must have valid CA drivers license and insurable at standard rates with the Housing Authority's vehicle insurance carrier on a continuing basis.
