What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pipeline Operator I position at Howard Energy Partners?
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of the company and industry’s practices.
- Knowledge of construction standards.
- Able to troubleshoot and re-start mechanical equipment.
- Ensure run time and reliability goals are met by making rounds and performing small maintenance tasks.
- Assists with developing and maintaining, scopes, schedules and procedures for maintenance and operation.
- Has an understanding of the locations of our pipeline and customer pad locations.
- Responsible for the operations of compressors, pump, valves, pipeline and other related gas operations.
- Able to perform call outs unassisted.
- Has completed basic training and reporting requirements (UltiPro, CBTs, and Concur).
- Identifies, reports and corrects safety and environmental concerns.
- Able to notice equipment abnormalities.
- Consistently utilizes proper PPE.
- Responsible for pigging.
- Completing computer tasks and reporting using programs, such as word documents and Excel spreadsheets.
- Performs and completes job tasks in a timely manner.
- Communication with producers and company representatives.
- Responsible for housekeeping and operation of field stations.
- Responsible for knowing and maintaining regulatory compliance for pipeline (OSHA, DOT, PHMSA).
- Assists other department staff and accepts additional responsibilities as instructed by the operations manager and supervisor.
- Completion of “one calls”.
- Tank gauging.
- Launching and receive cleaning pigs.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in the natural gas or liquid pipeline industry.
- 1-3 years of experience working with inspections, installation, and repairs of pipelines.
- 2 years of operation of pipelines and/or plants is preferred but not required.
- Possess computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Products
Certifications:
- Technical certification
- Passes all required operator qualifications, written test and performance verification.
