Position: Full-time Parent Educator
Howe Community Resource Center (HCRC), in partnership with Howe Elementary School, builds a strong and resilient community through education and support to children and their families. We provide services to Howe Elementary School children and families, as well as parenting education and support to young at-risk families in Brown County. With over 20 years of partnership with Howe Elementary School, we believe that increased attendance and parent engagement lead to greater academic success for students. Our comprehensive parenting program focuses on home visitation to ensure the health, safety, and readiness to learn of children under five, with an emphasis on parent-child interaction, family well-being, and developmental milestones. Building trust and positive relationships with children and families is at the core of our work.
Role Description
This is a full-time role as a Parent Educator at Howe Community Resource Center located in Green Bay, WI. As a Parent Educator, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive and intensive parenting support to young at-risk families. This includes conducting home visitations to ensure the health, safety, and development of children under five. You will focus on enhancing parent-child interaction, promoting family well-being, and monitoring developmental milestones. This is an on-site role that involves building trust and positive relationships with families and collaborating with the entire HCRC team.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in parenting education or related field
- Strong knowledge of child development and early childhood education
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build trust and establish positive relationships with families
- Empathy, understanding, and compassion for at-risk families
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in documentation and record-keeping
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.50 per hour
