Position Title: Positive Behavior Support Officer (PBSO)
The Positive Behavior Support Officer position provides support for a U.S Department of Labor Job Corps contractor. The Job Corps program is a federally-funded residential training program. The mission of Job Corps is to provide career-ready technical and basic skills (academic) training and job placement assistance to program eligible youth ages 16-24.
Summary of Duties: The Positive Behavior Support Officer is responsible for administering the Center’s Behavior Management System, including the Multi-tiered Behavioral Framework.
Key Areas of Responsibilities:
- Administers the Center’s Behavior Management System according to the DOL, Corporate and Center policies.
- Develops and implements an effective Behavior Management System.
- Oversees staff members assigned to this department. Ensures staff members have adequate training to complete key areas of responsibilities.
- Provides documented training to staff.
- Cross-trains department employees. Coordinates staff meetings.
- Develops and implements Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other written plans as necessary. Ensures department is compliant with all safety standards and expectations to include proper workmen’s compensation reporting.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience in counseling or related field.
Certifications/Licenses:
- Valid state driver’s license
