Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Monitor Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring patients' vital signs and telemetry data, ensuring their safety and well-being in a fast-paced medical environment. This role is crucial in providing immediate feedback to nursing staff and physicians regarding any changes in patient conditions, particularly in high-stakes settings such as Level I and Level II trauma centers.
Duties
- Continuously monitor patients' cardiac rhythms and vital signs through telemetry equipment.
- Interpret telemetry data and promptly report any abnormalities or significant changes to the nursing staff.
- Assist in the diagnostic evaluation of patients by maintaining accurate records of vital signs and telemetry readings.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement appropriate interventions based on monitored data.
- Maintain a clean and aseptic environment while handling equipment and interacting with patients.
- Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and cardiology to effectively assess patient conditions.
- Participate in ongoing education related to emergency medicine practices and telemetry monitoring techniques.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of telemetry systems and monitoring equipment.
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and cardiology principles.
- Experience or familiarity with emergency medicine protocols, especially in trauma center settings.
- Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations based on vital sign readings.
- Proficiency in aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety during monitoring processes.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with medical staff.
- Previous experience as a Monitor Technician or similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
