Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Operating Room team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. This role requires a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Registered Nurse will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Duties
- Prepare and maintain the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
- Assist in the administration of anesthesia and monitor patients' vital signs throughout the procedure.
- Perform nursing duties such as catheterization, spinal taps, and physical examinations as required.
- Provide post-operative care and education to patients and their families regarding recovery protocols.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with hospital policies.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure a sterile environment in the operating room.
Experience
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Previous experience in an Operating Room setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with emergency room procedures and outpatient care is advantageous.
- Experience in long-term care, home care, or occupational health is a plus.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
