Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the mental health and educational needs of students, working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a positive learning environment. This role involves conducting assessments, providing counseling services, and developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
Duties
- Conduct psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations to identify students' needs.
- Collaborate with educators and parents to develop and implement IEPs tailored to individual student requirements.
- Provide individual and group counseling services to students facing emotional, social, or behavioral challenges.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to support students in distress or experiencing crises.
- Work with students with developmental disabilities, ensuring their educational needs are met effectively.
- Engage in conflict management strategies to resolve disputes among students or between students and staff.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and necessary interventions.
- Provide training and support for teachers on best practices in special education and school psychology.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in School Psychology or a related field.
- Valid state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of IEP development and implementation processes.
- Strong skills in conflict management and crisis intervention techniques.
- Familiarity with special education laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with students, families, and staff.
- Ability to conduct patient assessments and provide appropriate recommendations based on findings.
