Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated X-ray Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures to assist in the evaluation and treatment of patients. This role requires a strong understanding of medical imaging techniques, anatomy, and patient care, particularly in a fast-paced environment such as a Level I or Level II trauma center. The X-ray Technician will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
Duties
- Perform X-ray examinations on patients, ensuring the highest quality images for diagnostic purposes.
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment, adhering to safety protocols and standards.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort.
- Collaborate with physicians to determine appropriate imaging techniques based on patient needs.
- Assist in other imaging modalities as required, including mammography, sonography, nuclear medicine, and PET scans.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of procedures performed.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in medical imaging.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with advancements in technology and techniques.
Experience
- Previous experience as an X-ray Technician or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of diagnostic evaluation techniques and anatomy is essential.
- Familiarity with various imaging modalities such as mammography, sonography, nuclear medicine, and PET scans is advantageous.
- Experience working in urgent care or trauma centers is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team are required.
