Description:
Our client is a Bay Area based private equity firm is looking to add a business development associate to its deal origination team. This position will be responsible for investment target identification and developing relationships with companies and banks of interest to the firm as well as maintaining contact with a database of investment bankers and business brokers. This position communicates the firm’s message and value proposition and will be the first point of contact between the firm and the owners / CEOs of companies we will consider acquiring.
We seek candidates that have excellent sales and communications skills and are able to thrive in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates are team-oriented, are self-starters, and have the social skills to handle high-level discussions with senior executives.
Requirements:
- 1 – 4 years of deal sourcing experience at PE firm OR Investment bank
- Demonstrated superior academic performance at a top-tier institution
- Undergraduate degree in business or finance viewed favorably
- Maturity and presence to interact with C-level executives
- Self-starter with strong sales and communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Manage relationships with intermediaries (i.e. banks) and manage some proprietary deal sourcing as well
- Investment target identification and developing relationships with companies and banks of interest to the firm
- Manage the current boutique banking relationships; expand their scope and communicate with those contacts more frequently
- Travel to various industry events and conferences
