Position Summary
The Supervisor of the Nutrition department supervises the nutrition employees of the kitchen and cafeteria in the absence of the manager. Monitors and assists in the provision of patient room service, catering, purveyor orders and cafeteria meal services. Follows and monitors for compliance appropriate sanitation regulations concerning food handling, preparation, storage and ware washing. The employee is expected to be involved in the planning and facilitation of change in an effort to continually improve the services of the Nutrition Department.
Primary Position Responsibilities
1.
Is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the kitchen and cafeteria to include but not limited to: monitoring the patient trayline, providing caterings to patrons and assuring all equipment is monitored and in working order.

Monitors the sanitation of department and staff compliance to assure regulations are being adhered to.
3.
Places orders with vendors and monitors receiving and pricing structure.
4.
Monitors and coaches staff to assure excellent service and high quality food is being provided. Reports any concerns to the manager and may have to counsel staff when necessary.
5.
Manages employee schedules to assure adequate staffing coverage.

Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Required:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred:
Associates degree in Foodservice or Bachelors in Foodservice
Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):

3 years of food experience and 1 year supervisory experience
