Position Summary: Adjunct instructor for the BFA department. The instructor will be a working professional as well as a teacher and have experience and a strong foundation in commercial art applications. Instructor will have a broad understanding of digital media, the aesthetics of design and effective technology for an engaging, interactive experience. The instructor will be teaching visual and technical skills, such as design principles, digital art creation, sound, animation, and programming, to create interactive projects in the digital environment. The instructor will plan, prepare and deliver quality instruction to students utilizing approved course curriculum and instructional methods that accommodate multiple learning modalities.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Art or related discipline
Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years of related practical work experience required
- Prior teaching experience preferred
Position Responsibilities:
- Facilitate organized, engaging classes based on course objectives and course curriculum
- Assess student learning using appropriate methods
- Monitor and evaluate student progress; provide feedback and advising to students regarding progress
- Effectively resolves student concerns or complaints
- Participate in new student orientation, graduation and other campus events, as appropriate
- Participate in professional development activities to maintain currency in the field and with instructional and educational practices and methods
- Other duties as required
