VP of Supply Chain

Position Summary:

The Vice President of Supply Chain is responsible for the strategic leadership and management of all supply chain operations at HRHS. This role oversees procurement, materials management, vendor relations, inventory control, and supply chain analytics. The Vice President ensures compliance with all applicable Kansas state laws and regulations, enhancing operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness while supporting the unique needs of an independent regional health system.

• Strategic Supply Chain Management:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive supply chain strategy aligned with HRHS’s mission and objectives.
  • Implement best practices in supply chain operations to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure all procurement and supply chain activities comply with Kansas state procurement laws, tax requirements, licensure standards, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal and regulatory changes affecting supply chain operations.
  • Develop and Lead the Value Analysis process and committee
• Vendor and Contract Management:
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Negotiate contracts that achieve an optimal balance between cost savings, service quality, and payment terms.
  • Ensure all vendor agreements comply with legal requirements, including anti-kickback statutes and conflict-of-interest policies.
• Inventory and Materials Management:
  • Oversee inventory control processes to ensure adequate supply levels and minimize waste.
  • Implement systems for tracking and managing inventory in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Supply Chain Analytics:
  • Utilize data analytics to provide actionable insights and support decision-making.
  • Develop performance metrics and dashboards to monitor supply chain effectiveness.
• Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead and mentor the supply chain team, promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and competencies.
• Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
  • Work closely with clinical, operational, and administrative departments to understand and meet their supply chain needs.
  • Address procedural and policy challenges, promoting effective communication and cooperation across the organization.
• Risk Management:
  • Identify potential risks within the supply chain and implement strategies to mitigate them.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations related to materials handling and storage.

• Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field required.
  • Master’s degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., Certified Professional in Supply Management) preferred.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare supply chain management.
  • Experience within Kansas healthcare systems or familiarity with Kansas-specific procurement regulations highly desirable.
• Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong understanding of supply chain principles, procurement practices, and inventory management.
  • Knowledge of Kansas state laws regarding procurement, contracting, and taxation.
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software and technologies.

  • Ability to travel between facilities or to vendor sites as necessary.

• Ensure all supply chain activities adhere to HRHS policies and procedures.
• Comply with federal laws such as the Anti-Kickback Statute and the False Claims Act, as well as Kansas state-specific regulations.
• Maintain confidentiality and integrity of all proprietary and sensitive information.
