Job title: Front-end Developer (Mid to Senior 5 7 years)
Location: Chicago, IL (Local candidates only)
Project: Experience Design & Research Digital Collaboration and Design System Team
Key Skills & Qualifications
- 5 years of front-end development with strong HTML, CSS, ES6 JavaScript, and TypeScript
- Deep experience with React and modern CSS frameworks/processors
- Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, including TDD and unit testing
- Familiarity with Node.js, Webpack, and NPM
- Experience using Git and collaborative source control workflows
- Proven debugging and performance optimization skills
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and cross-browser compatibility
- Experience with agile methodologies and working in cross-functional teams
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- A portfolio or code samples demonstrating UI development best practices
Nice to Have:
- Experience working within a design system team
- Familiarity with end-to-end testing frameworks
- Experience with mobile testing frameworks
Responsibilities:
- Build reusable and configurable React components using TypeScript
- Contribute to and maintain Client's internal design system
- Collaborate with design, product, and engineering to build elegant UI experiences
- Provide documentation and best practices guidance to other developers
- Participate in agile ceremonies and code reviews
- Foster a collaborative and feedback-driven culture
