Job Description
Reports to: Plant Manager
SUMMARY
Responsible for providing leadership and establishing and implementing quality management strategy
to go along with overall business plans and objectives.
ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty
satisfactorily.
Establish and manage the ISO/TS 16949 compliant procedures for the Quality Management
System.
Manage the quality department.
Act as company quality representative when interacting with suppliers and customers.
Work with the product team to establish proper quality methods.
Act as the primary contact for internal and external quality communications.
Lead problem solving efforts and manage the corrective action process.
Define and track Customer Satisfaction Metrics.
Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) including processes, controls and work
instructions.
Support Continuous Improvement throughout the plant including training, documentation
and quality control.
Other duties as assigned.
JOB SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Ability to interpret and understand documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to communicate with supervisor and coworkers.
Good understanding of shop math including fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in
written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or similar required
5 to 15 years of experience in a quality function in automotive Tier 1 and/or Tier 2
TS 16949 certification experience a must
Working knowledge of; 8D, Six Sigma, Red X, MMOG
Customer and Supplier interface to resolve quality issues
