What are the responsibilities and job description for the MONDAY PART TIME Technology/ Coding Instructor (2:45-4:45 p.m) position at IDEA Lab Kids- Spring Branch?
MUST HAVE Robotics/ Technology/ Coding Instructor / STEM experience
MUST be able to control a class of 18 elementary students (2nd- 5th grade) independently
MUST be available every Monday starting August 25th-December 15th, 2024 from 2:45 p.m to 4:45 p.m (September 1st, October 6th, October 13th, and November 24th no class)
Teaching from 3:30 p.m-4:25 p.m
Prep time 2:45 p.m-3:25 p.m then 4:30 p.m to 4:45 p.m
$50 per class (per day) 2 hours a day
Are you naturally curious about technology and how things work? Have you taken some technology courses in school and done some programming? Do you have experience and interest in working with kids?
The kind of person we are looking for:
- Although we will train you on the curriculum, you need to have coding experience, a high degree of comfort with computers, logging in, accessing websites, and connecting to wifi
- You have experience in any of the following subject areas: Scratch, Python, Minecraft, Roblox, Javascript/HTML/CSS
- You have lead groups of kids - babysitting, coaching, lifeguard, camp counselor, etc.
- You are reliable - The kids depend on you to show up.
- You have a sense of humor and flexibility.
- You are polite and comfortable speaking with parents, students, and members of staff.
- Experience with Minecraft and Roblox a plus!
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 2 per week
