SUMMARY SCOPE OF ROLE
Ensure all public areas are clean and maintained according to the standards set forth by the hotel and IDM, the management company.
MINIMUM EDUCATION/RELEVANT WORK QUALIFICATIONS
High school or equivalent education required.
Prior hospitality experience preferred.

- 30% Perform general cleaning duties in public areas (dusting, sweep/mopping, vacuuming, cleaning of glass doors, etc.) including food service outlets, lobby, and public restrooms.
- 15% Perform during and after hours care of the pool and fitness facility.
- 15% Assist in the general housekeeping operation when necessary.
- 15% Report all maintenance matters per procedure ensuring guest satisfaction and facility upkeep.
- 15% Responsible for being knowledgeable about the hotel.
- 10% Maintain, at all times, a neat and clean professional appearance.
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Enforce hotel safety standards.
Perform other duties and handle projects as assigned by Manager.
Report property deficiencies to the management and/or the appropriate department.
KEYS TO SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE INCLUDE
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK HOURS
This is an hourly position and will be scheduled based on operational need/coverage.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Public Area Attendant reports directly to the Executive Housekeeper and has limited scope of supervisory responsibilities based on function of position.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift to 50lbs, clearly verbally communicate with employees and public. speak, hear, see, read, write, type, dial, reach, and bend.
Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems.
Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length.
Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space and to reach other departments of the hotel on a timely basis.
Must be able to bend, squat and lift up to 75 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other associates.
Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
