Overview
Responsible for oversight of claims management for auto and equipment incidents across the organization. Get units back into commission in a timely matter. Provide support to corporate risk, legal team members, and insurance brokers/carriers to ensure accurate information is obtained to allow proper evaluation of insurance matters.Responsibilities
- Serve as subject matter expert for all company’s auto and equipment insurance coverages
- Partner with MasTec Risk and MasTec’s insurance broker to evaluate and process claims related to auto incidents
- Review auto and equipment claims for completeness as they are reported, understand information necessary to process claim, and research and gather needed information
- Administer and submit equipment claims
- Act as a liaison for claims adjustors. Coordinates inspection of vehicles and obtaining estimates
- Submit auto claims via ESIS
- Manage auto claim from submission to return of unit to commission
- Review estimates for accuracy and completeness. Request additional information or second opinions when estimates are questionable
- Responsible for keeping costs down by using sound judgment and negotiating with vendors when needed
- Assist with subcontract deviation requests
- Partners with Safety to develop and implement processes and systems for reporting auto and equipment claims
- Identifies persistent losses and partners with Safety to provide additional training when they occur to help reduce future losses
- Work with project teams to collect needed documents on auto and equipment losses
- Update and manage the insurance tracker as it relates to auto, and equipment claims
- Draft and publish the monthly insurance blog
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience Requirements:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a business- related field
- 2-5 years of relevant experience
- Experience working with corporate insurance policies preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward the company’s Zero Injury principles
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Familiarity working within Share Point
- Strong organizational skills, initiative, and meticulous attention to details
- Ability to handle confidential information and communications in a secure and professional manner
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to deal with multiple assignments, to prioritize, and to progress assignments with minimal oversight
Working Environment:
- When visiting jobsites, the work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions
- This work environment may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises
