Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial .NET Developer/Architect to support and enhance its custom-developed Statewide Budget Solution. This system supports critical financial planning processes, including the Annual Operational Plan, Biennial Plan, and Budget Manual.
The selected candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing the central infrastructure, application instances, and databases that support the Budget System. The role also includes problem resolution, system analysis, and technical support under the direction of the Applications Development Manager.
Work Arrangement
- Hybrid role
- On-site required for a minimum of one month
- Partial remote work may be available after six months
- Candidate must be located in or willing to relocate to the Little Rock, AR area
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize .NET-based financial and budget applications
- Maintain and enhance complex applications supporting DFA’s Budget System
- Design and maintain data extraction packages and structured data layouts
- Install, configure, maintain, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server environments
- Design, implement, and test Disaster Recovery (DR) plans
- Develop and maintain Windows Services and Web Services
- Implement and manage MSDTC configurations and TDE Encryption
- Develop and maintain SSIS packages for data import/export
- Write, review, and optimize VB.NET and C# code
- Create detailed technical infrastructure diagrams and system specifications
- Mentor state employees and provide guidance on .NET best practices
- Support compliance with applicable state and federal laws, financial policies, and administrative procedures
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent education
- Minimum 6 years of senior-level .NET development and architecture experience
- 6 years experience with:
- ASP.NET, C#, VB.NET
- Microsoft SQL Server (2008 R2, 2012, 2016)
- SQL Server installation, maintenance, and performance optimization
- Windows Services and Web Services development
- Disaster Recovery design and testing
- Active Reports and/or StimulSoft Reporting
- MSDTC configuration and implementation
- TDE Encryption design and maintenance
- Financial application development
- Strong oral and written communication skills
