JOB SUMMARY:
The Extended Day Coordinator works under the supervision of the SUN Site Supervisor. Provides coordination of the extended day programs/activities for families and youth and volunteer coordination.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in the development and implementation of SUN programs.

Assist SUN Site Supervisor in the oversight of extended day programs and supervision of volunteers, teachers and participants.

Assist with hiring and training staff and volunteers
-
Manage SUN program in SUN Site Supervisor’s absence.

Assist in assessing the needs of students and community, creating classes, conducting student registration, communicating with parents about schedules and changes, and ensure the smooth running of classes and activities.

Collaborate with SUN Site Supervisor and the school to create a high quality program that supports academic achievement and the healthy development of students.

Create paper and online registration for after school activities and assist with enrollment.
-
Provide a safe and secure environment for participants.
-
Record all program fees and deposit on a weekly basis, including completing refunds.
-
Complete student tracking both accurately and timely in terms of student safety.

Work with students needing behavioral support to create behavior plans and monitor goals for improvement.

Coordinate data collection, documentation, filing and database maintenance in accordance with agency’s management information systems and program needs.

Actively develop rapport with students, staff, and families.

Assist with the outreach and recruitment of volunteers, community organizations and resources to support the SUN program, the school community and neighborhood, and the needs of students and their families.

Completing all volunteer paperwork including submitting monthly hours to Development.

Effectively communicate school and Impact NW policy, mission, values and decisions to program staff, volunteers, collaborating organizations and the community.

Effectively work with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
Qualifications
Any combination of experience and training that would likely meet the following requirements:
-
Associate Degree and/or equivalent training and a minimum of two years experience in the field of education or related human service field.

Positive kid management and communication skills.
-
Well-versed in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Publisher.
-
Able to create attractive promotional materials, spreadsheets, and perform data entry.
-
Knowledge of the Portland and local school community.
-
Excellent coordinating and organizational skills including the ability to engage a broad spectrum of community members in Impact NW programs and activities.

Ability to organize, prioritize and complete multiple and varied tasks.
-
Ability to communicate directly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
-
Sensitivity and ability to relate to people from diverse lifestyles and cultures.
-
Ability and willingness to work as a team member and support the mission and goals of Impact NW.
PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bilingual and cross cultural knowledge and skills

Experience in volunteer management, administration, and staff supervision.
