The Food & Beverage Supervisor oversees and coordinates the activities of Food & Beverage employees in all outlets during his/her assigned shift to provide guests a pleasant, enjoyable, and special experience while maintaining high production, productivity, quality, and customer services standards. He/she works with the Restaurant Manager and line level staff to ensure all food and beverage menu items are made to established specifications and guest service meets department standards. The Supervisor helps ensure safety protocols are followed. He/she monitors product costs, addresses scheduling issues that come up during the shift, ensures proper cashiering, provides real-time coaching/training, places orders for product, and addresses guest concerns.
Qualifications
Education, Qualifications and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Two (2) years of experience working in the food services industry.
- One (1) year of supervisory experience preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of casino food and beverage operations.
- Experience with point-of-sale systems.
- Strong understanding of correct service procedures
- Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS office, restaurant management software, POS)
- Knowledge of Health Code Regulations required.
- Must have flexible schedule and be able to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
- Must possess professional and effective communication skills with ability to verbally interface and respond to co-workers and management.
- Must present a professional appearance with strict hygiene standards.
Competencies:
- Excellent communications skills are essential. This includes verbal, written and listening skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, management and guests while providing excellent service to internal and external customers. Must maintain strict confidentiality.
- Spanish speaking not required but preferred.
- Must establish and maintain excellent working relationships with department heads, members of the public, regulators and/or vendors.
- Must be able to analyze and solve complex problems that may have non-standard solutions.
- Skill in solving practical problems and deal effectively with situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to establish procedures for the effective implementation of the Director’s directives.
- Work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Demands:
- Lifting and carrying is required. Lifting items weighing as much as 30 pounds may be required,
- This position requires reaching, manipulating and keyboard operation (typing).
- This position requires sitting, stooping, standing, bending, and walking.
- More than 80% of work time is standing or walking.
- This position requires intense and exacting mental and visual attention.
Working Conditions:
- This job requires working in areas where the noise level is high, where there may be high heat while performing intense, complex, and very involved tasks with major responsibility.
- Must observe and comply with all safety regulations and procedures, including the use of all safety equipment provided. Must always practice safety.
Special Requirements:
- Must maintain a valid Oregon driver’s license.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must submit to and pass a drug/alcohol screening test.
- Must submit to and pass an Oregon State background investigation.
- Proven gaming license eligibility preferred.
- Food Handlers Certification required.
- OLCC service permit required.
