Your Impact
The Retirement Services Consultant is responsible for the management and delivery of services leading to the education, engagement and support of INPRS' members at all stages of work life and retirement readiness. This includes delivery of workshops, group presentations, special event participation, individual counseling, and special INPRS' initiatives.
This position will support the NE region of Indiana; Elkhart, Kosciusko, Miami, Wabash, Lagrange, Noble, Whitley, Huntington, Wells, Adams, Allen, DeKalb, and Steuben. Ideal candidate will need to reside in one of the counties listed or at least on the border.
Essential Duties:
- Manages the on-going delivery of products and services that foster INPRS' member engagement, education and plan knowledge.
- Collaborates with others to successfully implement member engagement, education product plans, including collateral development and product delivery.
- Participates in department’s quality monitoring and assurance structure with goals, objectives and response data.
- Consults with members and key stakeholders regarding INPRS’ various defined benefit and defined contribution plans and the role those plans play in retirement planning, engagement and preparation.
Job Requirements:
- Exceptional public speaking skills in a variety of settings.
- Exceptional individual counseling skills.
- Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, research and data analysis skills.
- Flexibility to deal with frequent changes in work assignments and schedules, including up to 80 percent travel and work outside normal business hours.
- A thorough knowledge of state and federal legislation, rules and regulations governing INPRS and the retirement services industry.
- High level of coordination with other individuals and teams within the organization both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to create positive working relationships.
- Strong written communication skills, including the ability to produce correspondence, reports, speeches and other types of presentations as required.
- Strong teamwork orientation and an ability to work independently
- Valid Driver’s License issued in the United States
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, human resources, communication or education. Master’s degree preferred.
- 5-10 years of experience in retirement /financial education and counseling, communicating and/or presenting complex financial concepts to customers.
- Defined Contribution experience preferred. History of earned licenses and certifications in investing, financial services and/or retirement financial education preferred.
