Role Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Senior Data Community Manager to lead and grow our internal Data Community in Danvers, MA. This role is pivotal in energizing the data community, establishing ways of working, and supporting data maturity, literacy, and operational excellence. You will foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement in how we manage and use data across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Community Building & Engagement
- Build and cultivate a purpose-driven data community that promotes trust, learning, and innovation.
- Organize and lead regular community events such as data talks, clinics, and showcases.
- Serve as a connector between data professionals, business stakeholders, and leadership.
Ways of Working & Governance
- Define and evolve the community’s operating model (e.g., data owners, stewards, engineers), rituals, and communication channels.
- Promote shared standards and reusable data assets across teams.
- Align community practices with enterprise data governance and compliance frameworks.
Data Maturity & Literacy
- Partner with Learning & Development to design and roll out data literacy programs.
- Support the adoption of modern data tools, methodologies, and mindsets.
- Guide teams through data platform maturity—from ad hoc practices to automated, business-aligned data operations.
- Monitor and report progress on data maturity initiatives.
Collaboration & Interdependency
- Clarify roles and responsibilities across data functions (e.g., data owners, analysts, stewards).
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and knowledge exchange.
- Identify and address bottlenecks or conflicts in data workflows and dependencies.
Communication & Advocacy
- Act as the voice of the data community to leadership and the broader organization.
- Develop compelling narratives and content to demonstrate community impact.
- Manage internal platforms (e.g., intranet, Teams) to share success stories, resources, and updates.
Qualifications:
Must-Have
- Proven experience in community management, change management, or data enablement.
- Deep understanding of data concepts, lifecycle, and management/governance principles.
- Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience leading cultural or behavioral change in large, complex organizations.
Nice-to-Have
- Background in medtech, healthcare, or regulated industries.
- Familiarity with data platforms, catalogs, analytics tools, and agile practices.
- Experience in internal communications or learning & development.
