At ICG the Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, and company trucks and trailers; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. it’s a role that oversees multiple pieces in a location. This means they handle the big picture and the critical details with equal skill. The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic has a special talent for ensuring smooth, efficient processes, and as a part of our company culture, it’s equally important that the Industrial Maintenance Mechanic has a skill for nurturing and teaching people too. Job Duties: Complies with all PPE standards and is aware of all safety practices, follows safety rules and procedures, complies with all legal regulations. Must be able to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment break-down and failures Must have strong mechanical and technical aptitude. Problem-solving skills and close attention to detail also are necessary. Maintains appropriate service and repair records, prepares paperwork and keeps stock of repair parts. Responds to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service. Diagnoses and makes repairs on gas, air, and electric-powered tools, such as power saws, drills, air compressors, generators and nail guns. Reads technical manuals, disassembles and reassembles, and use testing devices, such as ammeters and voltmeters, to identify problems. Responsible for rebuilding power tools with defective mechanical parts and electrical systems. Diagnoses and minor repairs to engines, transmissions, components, electrical and fuel systems, etc. for company trucks and trailers. Diagnoses and minor repairs of truck air conditioner systems. Performs preventative maintenance items on vehicles and equipment. Performs predictive maintenance items on equipment Replaces common parts and make adjustments. Designs, welds, and fabricates steel, projects using mig and gas. All assigned additional duties Qualifications and Requirements: Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. Must have a valid EPA 608 or EPA 609 Certification Card. Basic computer skills. Ability to determine repair needs and make necessary repairs. Demonstrated ability to operate machine tools. Demonstrated ability to use precision measuring equipment. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals written in English. This may include shop orders, blueprints, electrical diagrams and schematics, test sheets, completion sheets and quality assurance sheets. Ability to communicate verbally with co-workers in a productive manner. Basic math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in all units of measure including whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability to read a tape measure. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry (such as fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions) to practical situations. Ability to use tools in a safe and proper manner. Minimum of 2 years' experience in a maintenance mechanic functions and responsibilities. Ability to use trouble shooting tools and techniques to get to the root cause of a problem. Working knowledge of maintenance disciplines: pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, machine controls and mechanicals. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Forklift Certification. 40 hours weekly. Good communication skills English Fluency (Bilingual Spanish is a plus) Ability to lift 70-80 lbs. Must be able to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Must be able to prove eligibility to work in the United States. Hazards: Exposure to mutable types of weather conditions. Exposure to wood, concrete dust and debris. Operating light and heavy equipment. Lifting material and equipment from 10 lbs. and up. Excessive bending, kneeling, twisting and crouching. Exposure to loud noise from machinery and tools. Exposure to falling and flying particles.
