The Custodial Worker serves as a vital member of the custodial team, performing routine cleaning and maintenance duties across various campus buildings. Under the general supervision of the Custodial Supervisor, this role ensures a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit’s available budget, and the candidate’s qualifications

Shift:First Shift

Under the general supervision of the Custodial Supervisor, this role ensures a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain floors, furniture, fixtures, and entrance door glass
- Dispose of trash and recyclables appropriately
- Operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively
- Maintain cleanliness in assigned areas including restrooms, classrooms, offices, and common spaces
- Follow safety protocols and handle hazardous materials as needed
- Perform duties in various weather conditions and environments
- Constant standing, walking, and gripping
- Frequent kneeling, stooping, crouching, squatting, and reaching
- Frequent pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying (30–50 pounds)
- Ability to work in confined spaces and around hazardous materials
- May be required to work overtime and flexible hours
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- Successful completion of a background check
- Knowledge of safety practices in custodial work
- Experience operating cleaning equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
