Position: Cost Engineer
Location: Jacksonville, FL 32212
Work schedule: Onsite M-F, 8-5
Must Haves:
- Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited Engineering program
- Minimum of 5 years of pro cost engineering, including renovation cost engineering experience.
- 3 years prior work experience in design and/or construction fields.
- Working knowledge of ASME, ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, IMC, IPC, and IBC codes and standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for analysis, documentation, and team coordination
Plusses:
Certification as a Certified Cost Professional as issued by the American Association of Cost Engineers, or a Certification as a Certified Cost Engineer issued by DoD
Day-to-Day:
An employer in the Jacksonville area is looking for a Cost engineer with fire protection experience to join their team! This individual will be joining a team to provide advisory and assistance services that support the engineering and construction of onsite military infrastructure. Their daily tasks will inlclude:
- Provide independent and professional cost engineering support for planning, design, construction, and maintenance of facilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders and engineering/architectural disciplines to ensure coordination and integration with project requirements
- Participate in planning, budgeting, designing, and construction of new construction, renovation, and improvement projects
- Utilize knowledge of engineering and architecture to evaluate cost estimates and contract change orders
- Support major and complex projects (including MILCON) for government facilities such as offices, hospitals, manufacturing plants, and waterfront structures.
- Ensure all designs comply with DoD and Navy specifications, as well as relevant codes and regulations at all levels.
Salary : $115,000 - $125,000
