Position: Structural Engineer
Location: Jacksonville, FL 32212
Work schedule: Onsite M-F, 8-5
Must Haves:
- Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited program in Structural Engineering or Engineering Technology
- Minimum of 5 years of Structural System designs, including 1 year working on Capital Improvement projects for a federal agency
- Minimum of 5 years of professional civil engineering, structural code-compliant facilities, design experience for new construction, including renovation design
- Experience in the design of concrete, steel, timber, and masonry structures
- Experience with finite element analysis/modeling and/or structural software (ANSYS, ABAQUS, SAP2000, ETABS, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks)
Day-to-Day:
An employer in the Jacksonville area is looking for a Structural engineer with fire protection experience to join their team! This individual will be joining a team to provide advisory and assistance services that support the engineering and construction of onsite military infrastructure. Their daily tasks will include:
- Assess structural integrity of existing buildings, hangars, bridges, retaining walls, and other infrastructure
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) to evaluate structural performance under various loading conditions (e.g., wind, seismic, blast).
- Develop scopes of work for repair, rehabilitation, and new construction projects
- Use structural modeling software (e.g., SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, ANSYS, RISA-3D) to simulate and optimize designs for new and existing facilities.
- Prepare design documents including:
- Foundation plans
- Framing plans (floor and roof)
- Elevations, sections, and details
- Conduct structural calculations to support design decisions
- Knowledge of DoD, Navy Guide Specifications, criteria, policy, the International Building Code, Life Safety Code, industry code and standards and ability to apply to the work
- Ability to produce results of analysis in writing, review, and consolidate findings, evaluate recommendations, facts, and make oral presentations.
- Knowledge of budgeting, planning, and project management techniques.
- Ability to research standard structural systems, equipment or techniques in the development of structural design projects. Analyze the applicability of innovative processes, systems, equipment, or techniques.
Salary : $115,000 - $130,000
