Insight Global
Atlanta, GA Contractor
POSTED ON 1/28/2026 CLOSED ON 2/26/2026

What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supply Chain and Logistics Consultant position at Insight Global?

We’re looking for a Supply Chain & Logistics Consultant to help build the operational foundation that will support our client’s growth. This role begins as a fully remote, part‑time position, with at least two remote workdays per week based in Atlanta. Once the new lab opens (targeting April), the role will transition into increased hours in a hybrid schedule for a 6–8 month contract, with strong potential for full‑time conversion.

This hands-on role offers the opportunity to design and implement core supply chain, manufacturing, and planning systems, working closely with leadership to translate advanced technology into reliable, cost-effective, and scalable operations with real-world impact. The ideal candidate combines strong Excel-based modeling skills with real-world experience in manufacturing supply chains, supplier negotiation, and cross-functional coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

Supply Chain & Operations Setup

  • Design and implement end-to-end supply chain and logistics workflows, from sourcing through manufacturing and delivery.
  • Define and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for procurement, inventory control, and production planning.

Bill of Materials (BOM) & Data Management

  • Build, maintain, and optimize detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) in Excel (or ERP-adjacent tools as applicable).
  • Ensure version control, cost roll-ups, and traceability across components and assemblies.
  • Establish clean data structures to support planning, costing, and forecasting.

Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP)

  • Develop and maintain S&OP models to align demand forecasts, production capacity, inventory levels, and procurement plans.
  • Support scenario planning and sensitivity analysis for growth, supply constraints, and cost changes.

Supplier Management & Procurement

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers and contract manufacturers.
  • Lead or support supplier negotiations on pricing, lead times, MOQs, and contractual terms.
  • Establish supplier performance metrics (cost, quality, delivery, risk).

Inventory & Manufacturing Planning

  • Design inventory management models (raw materials, WIP, finished goods), including reorder points and safety stock logic.
  • Create and manage manufacturing schedules in coordination with internal teams and external manufacturers.
  • Identify bottlenecks and recommend improvements to throughput and working capital efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or manufacturing operations (consulting or industry).
  • Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, pivot tables, structured models; VBA a plus).
  • Hands-on experience building and managing BOMs, production plans, and inventory models.
  • Solid understanding of S&OP processes and manufacturing scheduling.
  • Experience negotiating with suppliers and managing vendor relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-moving, early-stage or growth-oriented environment.

Working Style & Expectations

  • Part-time to start, with flexible scheduling aligned to project milestones.
  • Deliverable-driven role focused on models, processes, documentation, and supplier frameworks.
  • Ability to create structure within ambiguity and build systems from the ground up.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $35/hr to $55/hr (Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.)
  • Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
