Position Summary: The Medical Receptionist role performs a variety of duties in order to support the medical staff and our patients at Integrated Health of Southern Illinois. The position requires excellent customer service skills with patients and a desire to be a team player. Individual must be flexible, organized and able to manage a demanding workload with accuracy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Welcomes and greats patients and visitors, answers telephone, responds to inquiries, directs callers to appropriate personnel, or initiates a task for response by medical personnel.
- Handling correspondence and file transfers such as the inflow and outflow of information by assisting with scans and fax.
- Obtains patient demographic and verifies information at each visit.
- Obtains necessary patient information to meet current Federal guidelines and Meaningful Use guidelines for electronic medical records.
- Collecting Co-payment or balances owed by cash check or card.
- Entering visit charges into EHR per Providers Routing Sheet.
- Scheduling follow-up appointments.
- Obtaining patient authorization for medical records release (HIPAA compliance).
- Identifying and resolving minor patient billing complaints.
- Maintaining cleanliness of waiting rooms and entrances.
- Assists other teams, customer service, scheduling as needed.
- Ensures an efficient and professional standard is maintained at all times
- Meets or exceeds organizational goals set forth.
- Other duties assigned by Manager.
Qualifications
Hours of Availability: Monday-Friday with ability to work shifts during the hours of 7:30 a.m.-7:00 p.m. with Rotating Saturdays 7:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Education & Experience:
- 1 Year Medical Receptionist preferred
- High School Diploma
- Proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel
Salary : $15 - $18
